PLAN TO BAN VAPING IN PUBLIC PLACES

“Vaping and the use of smokeless tobacco products could be banned from bars, restaurants, schools and workplaces in New Zealand.” Second hand vapour might be annoying for some people but there is no evidence that it is harmful. Seems like two steps forward and one step back at the moment for the E-liquid industry in NZ. We all know there needs to be regulation for the industry to be taken seriously, having vendors mixing juice in their garage and selling to the public with no way of knowing what’s in it was never going to last. We all want to lift the standards for NZ juices so that they can be recognised internationally.

On a positive note: “Māori public health organisation Hāpai Te Hauora said "braver action" from the government was needed around vaping. Mihi Blair, Hāpai's general manager for tobacco control, said she encouraged by the strong stance on vape safety, but was concerned the regulations would limit smokers' access to vapes as a tool to quit smoking. “
