WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL DOESN'T WANT VAPERS IN PUBLIC

Vaping could soon be banned in Wellington's smokefree areas.

The Wellington City Council is proposing to extend its smoking ban to include vaping, the Grey St pedestrian area and beaches  – though the latter would only be during daylight savings.

But Councillor Brian Dawson, who has the social development portfolio, confirmed the proposed rule change would be unlikely to be enforced.
